About the role
The Production Assistant supports the production team by assisting in day-to-day operations, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and deadlines are met. This role involves multitasking, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The Production Assistant plays a key part in maintaining smooth production workflows and supporting the team to achieve production goals.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Production Support:
- Assist in setting up and preparing production areas, tools, and materials.
- Monitor production schedules and ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Coordinate with team members to maintain a steady workflow.
Quality Control:
- Conduct checks on products to ensure they meet quality standards.
- Report any defects, inconsistencies, or issues to the production supervisor.
- Maintain accurate records of quality inspections and findings.
Equipment Maintenance:
- Support basic maintenance and cleaning of production tools and equipment.
- Report equipment malfunctions or required repairs to the appropriate personnel.
Administrative Tasks:
- Maintain detailed records of production activities and outputs.
- Assist in preparing reports or documentation as required.
Health and Safety:
- Adhere to all company health and safety policies.
- Ensure the production area is clean and safe at all times.
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and encourage team compliance as required.
Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with other team members to achieve production goals.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues about progress, challenges, or needs.
- Take on additional responsibilities as assigned to support overall production.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a production or manufacturing environment (preferred).
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
- Basic knowledge of production equipment and processes (training provided).
- Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, inventory systems) is a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods.
- Lift and move materials up to [weight limit, e.g., 50 lbs].
- Perform repetitive tasks in a fast-paced environment.
