About the role

The Systems Engineer is a key member of the company’s Global Field Services Team, responsible for identifying new business opportunities, discussing prospective customers’ business problems and gathering technical requirements, explaining Safetrust’s value propositions, developing proposals, designing solution architectures and facilitating product demonstrations. The Systems Engineer may also play a role in project delivery from time to time, especially in support of Safetrust’s professional services and system integrator partners, ranging from proofs-of-concept and pre-production pilots through solutions design, build, deployment, and enhanced onsite troubleshooting. Some Support and QA assistance may also be required from time to time.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Serve as an expert in the Safetrust product suite, including its architecture, functionality, industry applications and deployment methodologies
  • Assist in qualifying software license, hardware and professional services business opportunities
  • Lead discovery sessions with existing customers and new prospects, mapping customer requirements to Safetrust technology capabilities and service alignment
  • Develop and deliver custom demonstrations and presentations to key decision-makers to address their business issues and needs
  • Help to identify the sales milestones and tactics necessary to win each new business opportunity and retain existing accounts
  • Work with other stakeholders such as partner sellers and pre-sales engineers to sell our products’ strategic value, develop client-focused solutions and document in proposals as required
  • Deliver compelling arguments in favor of the technical features, competitive advantages and business benefits of Safetrust technology
  • Develop proposals for Safetrust solutions, including infrastructure configurations and contribute to RFx responses
  • Set up and maintain product demonstration and evaluation environments
  • Undertake consulting assignments as required, not limited to expert services related to deployment, integration and Safetrust products to meet project deliverables
  • Produce and maintain solution and project documentation as required, not limited to pre-sales support, solution delivery and post-project handover to the Safetrust support team
  • Assist with the enablement of selected partners, with a focus on educating key personnel nominated by the partner to be the Safetrust technical leads
  • Prepare and deliver technical training courses and mentoring sessions for partners and customers
  • Provide mentoring and guidance to peers and partner resources concerning technical standards, architecture and solution design
  • Provide onsite technical expertise to assist Safetrust’s Support and QA Teams in resolving complex problems.
  • Travel up to 75%

Skills & Experience

  • Minimum five years experience in solution design, consultancy and implementation of technical solutions
  • Experience in the physical access control industry (card readers, access cards, etc.)
  • Proven ability to present complex solutions to both business and technical audiences, ranging from end users to senior executives
  • Strong understanding of software design and architecture, including operating systems, databases, Cloud and Mobile technology
  • Excellent consultative skills, oral and written communication skills, customer service skills and product demonstration skills
  • Proven ability to craft a solution and develop proposals with appropriate technology solutions and consulting services based on client discussions
  • Proven ability to communicate verbally and in writing with audiences such as senior executives, technical leaders, decision-makers, salespeople, business partners, client technical resources, project managers and project stakeholders

Required Interpersonal Qualities:

  • Provide rapid, accurate responses to questions from the sales team and partners alike
  • Display initiative and self-motivation to deliver high-quality work, meeting deadlines for both internal and external customers
  • Work effectively with the delivery teams and project managers, Safetrust peer roles and external service providers
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with technical staff within selected partners
  • Strong negotiation and coaching skills are necessary for dealing with client-facing issues
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently

Ideal candidates will also have the following:

  • Minimum three years experience in a software systems/sales engineering/pre-sales support position with a heavy emphasis on consultative solution selling approaches
  • Good understanding of cloud solution architectures, in particular, AWS
  • Experience in running structured and ad hoc training courses for technical audiences
  • Live in or near a major U.S. Metro Area
